ITINERARY
Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau (170km)
Hanoi – Mai Chau
Your exciting 4-day motorbike adventure in Northwest Vietnam kicks off at 8:30 AM from our shop on the outskirts of Hanoi. To avoid the city’s busy traffic, we’ll take small and scenic country roads, offering a glimpse of Vietnam’s rural life. After lunch, enjoy a thrilling ride along the forgotten French Road No. 6, winding alongside the Black River with breathtaking views reminiscent of Ha Long Bay. We’ll then cross the stunning Thung Khe Pass—one of North Vietnam’s most beautiful mountain passes—before descending into the peaceful Mai Chau valley, home to the White Thai ethnic group who live in traditional stilt houses.
Dinner and overnight in Mai Chau – Homestay.
Day 2: Mai Chau – Phu Yen (160km)
Mai Chau – Phu Yen
After a peaceful morning walk in the village or a relaxing cup of coffee, we say goodbye to our Thai hosts and head towards Moc Chau. Today’s ride is relatively easy, allowing for multiple stops to capture the stunning mountain landscapes. After lunch near the picturesque Hua Tat Pass, we continue our journey on the less-traveled Road 43, which leads to the Da River. A scenic ferry crossing at Van Yen takes us to the other side, followed by an enjoyable motorbike ride along winding roads until we reach Phu Yen.
Dinner and overnight in Phu Yen – Hotel.
Day 3: Phu Yen – Thac Ba Lake (160km)
Although the ride today is shorter, it promises to be one of the highlights of this tour. After a hearty breakfast, we embark on a ride through mountain passes and rustic villages inhabited by the Muong and Hmong ethnic groups. We’ll stop at Lung Lo Pass, one of the most beautiful yet challenging passes in North Vietnam, perfect for capturing breathtaking photos. After lunch in Yen Bai Town, we take a short ride to Thac Ba Lake, the largest man-made lake in Vietnam. If time and weather permit, we’ll enjoy a relaxing boat trip on its tranquil waters.
Overnight in Vu Linh village – Homestay with the Dzao ethnic group.
Day 4: Thac Ba Lake – Hanoi (180km)
After breakfast and warm farewells to our friendly Dzao hosts, we set off on rugged backroads through palm tree-lined villages and lush tea plantations. For those seeking an extra thrill, some off-road riding options are available this morning. After lunch in Doan Hung town, we enjoy a scenic motorbike ride along the Red River, passing through the heart of the Red River Delta. As we approach Hanoi, we’ll aim to arrive before rush hour, ensuring a smooth conclusion to our tour.
Tour ends around 4:00 PM in Hanoi. A taxi will be arranged to take you back to your hotel.
