8:00 – 8:30 AM: Hotel Pickup
Your adventure begins with a convenient hotel pickup. Meet our friendly and knowledgeable guide, who will introduce you to Hanoi’s vibrant streets as we start our journey.
8:45 AM: Visit Tran Quoc Pagoda
Our first stop is Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest pagoda in Hanoi, dating back to the 6th century. Located on Golden Fish Island in West Lake, this sacred site is known for its beautiful architecture and serene surroundings.
9:30 AM: Discover the Ho Chi Minh Complex
Step into Vietnam’s history as we visit the Ho Chi Minh Complex, a place of great national significance.
- Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum: Pay respects to the revered leader Ho Chi Minh and see his embalmed body. (Closed on Mondays, Fridays, and from June 15 to August 15 for annual maintenance.)
- Presidential Palace and Stilt House: Walk through the lush gardens and see the simple houses where Ho Chi Minh lived and worked between 1954 and 1969.
- One Pillar Pagoda: Admire this iconic Buddhist temple, built in a unique lotus shape, dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy.
Dress Code: Please wear modest attire (cover shoulders and knees) when visiting the mausoleum, temples, and pagodas.
11:15 AM: Explore the Vietnam Ethnology Museum
Learn about Vietnam’s incredible cultural diversity at the Vietnam Ethnology Museum, where exhibits showcase the traditions and lifestyles of the country’s 54 ethnic groups.
Note: On Mondays, we will visit the Vietnam Women’s Museum instead, as the Ethnology Museum is closed.
12:45 PM: Vietnamese Lunch Experience
Enjoy a delicious Vietnamese lunch featuring a variety of 6 to 8 authentic dishes at a local restaurant. This is a perfect opportunity to taste Hanoi’s rich culinary heritage.
2:00 – 2:15 PM: Visit the Temple of Literature
Step into history at Vietnam’s first university, founded in the 11th century. The Temple of Literature is a beautifully preserved complex dedicated to Confucius and scholars, offering a peaceful escape with stunning ancient architecture.
3:15 PM: Discover Hoa Lo Prison Museum
Delve into Hanoi’s past at the Hoa Lo Prison Museum, originally built by the French to imprison Vietnamese revolutionaries. Later, it was used to house American prisoners of war during the Vietnam War, earning the nickname “Hanoi Hilton.” This visit offers a moving insight into Vietnam’s history and resilience.
4:15 – 4:30 PM: Return to Your Hotel
As the day comes to an end, we will drop you off at your hotel, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Hanoi’s history, culture, and beauty.
