Our motorbike adventure kicks off on the outskirts of Hanoi, where our trusty motorcycles await. After a hearty breakfast and a comprehensive briefing on the itinerary, we set out on our journey. Our chosen route follows the western edge of the city, tracing the meandering Red River. The well-maintained roads make for a smooth and enjoyable ride, perfect for motorcycle touring.

Our first destination is the breathtaking Thac Ba Lake, a natural jewel of the region. From here, the adventure intensifies as we ascend a rugged trail leading to the captivating village of Vu Linh. Nestled beside the tranquil lakeshore, Vu Linh is home to the Dzao indigenous people, offering authentic cultural experiences and warm hospitality.

The Dzao community welcomes us with open arms as we settle into our homestay for the night. This marks the beginning of our extraordinary journey through northern Vietnam, where every twist and turn of the road unveils the true beauty of this enchanting region.

The morning begins with a heartfelt farewell to Vu Linh village as we start our ride towards Sapa, a highlight of our Vietnam motorcycle adventure. The road ahead is a patchwork of stunning scenery, winding through terraced rice fields and vibrant ethnic villages, home to H’mong and Dzao communities. A mid-morning stop allows us to savor the authentic flavors of Vietnamese cuisine.

As we ride deeper into the highlands, the landscape becomes even more captivating. Numerous stops along the way let us soak in the awe-inspiring mountain vistas that unfold before us.

Upon reaching Sapa, we check in to our accommodation. The town beckons with a lively local market and breathtaking views of the Hoàng Liên Sơn mountain range. For those seeking additional adventure, an optional visit to Cat Cat Village awaits, offering insights into cultural traditions and a serene waterfall.

The evening in Sapa is free for exploration, relaxation, or diving into the local nightlife—an ideal way to prepare for the exciting days ahead in our Vietnam motorcycle adventure.

After breakfast in Sapa, we set off for Bac Ha, famed for its vibrant markets and the lively Flower H’mong community. The morning ride treats us to breathtaking mountain views and glimpses of local life. A visit to Bac Ha’s bustling market provides a colorful cultural experience.

In the afternoon, we journey toward Xin Man, a hidden gem in the northern Vietnamese highlands. Along the way, scenic waterfalls and lush forests add to the charm of the ride. Upon arrival in Xin Man, we check in to our accommodation. The evening is free for exploring the town or simply unwinding, gearing up for more adventures in this lesser-explored region. After breakfast, we explore a local market before tackling mountain passes en route to Hoang Su Phi for lunch. In the afternoon, we take a thrilling 40km off-road ride through Tay Con Linh mountain range, then rejoin the main road for a relaxing ride to Ha Giang. Time permitting, we may visit Ha Thanh Waterfall before checking into our hotel.

We ride through the stunning landscapes of Quang Ba, Dong Van, and Yen Minh, home to resilient ethnic communities. After a coffee break with scenic views, we head to Yen Minh for lunch, then visit Pho Bang ancient village and the historic Vuong Palace. The day ends in Dong Van, where we rest overnight.

Today’s highlight is the breathtaking Ma Pi Leng Pass, with towering limestone peaks and deep valleys. We arrive in Bao Lac, a cultural hub known for its vibrant Sunday market, and settle into our hotel for a restful night.

We navigate rugged terrain, river crossings, and mountain passes, stopping to enjoy scenic views. In Ba Be, we take a serene boat trip on Vietnam’s largest freshwater lake, then enjoy a traditional Tay meal and stay overnight in a stilt house homestay.

We ride through winding mountain roads to Ban Gioc Waterfall, one of Vietnam’s most spectacular natural wonders. After exploring and capturing stunning views, we settle in for a peaceful night in the Ban Gioc area.

After a delightful breakfast in the scenic Ban Gioc area, we embark on an exhilarating journey through the breathtaking landscapes of Northern Vietnam. Our route from Ban Gioc to Bac Son offers an incredible opportunity to explore the region’s stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.

As we ride, we traverse diverse terrains, from winding mountain roads to well-paved stretches, immersing ourselves in the picturesque countryside. Along the way, we make several stops to admire the spectacular views, capture unforgettable moments, and interact with local ethnic communities, gaining insights into their traditional way of life.

Upon arriving in Bac Son, we check in at our accommodation for the night. This peaceful valley, surrounded by majestic limestone mountains, is renowned for its lush rice paddies and tranquil atmosphere—an ideal place to relax and reflect after a day of adventure.

We start the day with a fulfilling breakfast before setting off on our motorbike journey from Bac Son to the iconic Ha Long Bay. The ride takes us through a stunning landscape of rolling hills, peaceful villages, and winding roads that offer a glimpse into the rural charm of Northern Vietnam.

Upon reaching Ha Long, we transfer our motorcycles and riding gear onto a truck, marking the transition from land to sea. As the sun sets, we enjoy a delicious dinner onboard, surrounded by the magical ambiance of Ha Long Bay.

Today is all about relaxation and exploration in one of the world’s most spectacular natural wonders. We begin the day with a peaceful cruise through Ha Long Bay’s serene waters, marveling at towering limestone formations and the breathtaking coastal scenery.

Throughout the day, we have the opportunity to explore the bay’s fascinating caves and grottoes, formed over millions of years. For those seeking adventure, activities such as kayaking, swimming in crystal-clear waters, or simply sunbathing on the deck provide a perfect way to connect with the natural beauty of the region.
