The Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang collaborated with the Hue Monuments Conservation Center to undertake the effort. With a budget exceeding VND 40 billion, the project aimed to reconstruct the fortress based on its original Nguyen Dynasty design.
After over two years of meticulous restoration, Hai Van Quan has been completely transformed. The project successfully revived key architectural features, including the Vu Kho House, Tru So House, guard towers, city walls, and the main gate. These restorations have returned the site to its former grandeur, reminiscent of its prime era under the Nguyen Dynasty.
