Hoa Lu: Visit the ancient capital with temples dedicated to King Dinh and King Le, who ruled in the 10th century (968–1009). Hoa Lu served as the capital for 41 years before King Ly Thai To moved it to Thang Long (Hanoi) in 1010, marking the end of its era as Vietnam’s first capital. Trang An: Visit the UNESCO site of Trang An and enjoy a paddle boat ride on the Trang An River while exploring a stunning complex of valleys, caves, and diverse ecosystems, with many species listed in Vietnam’s Red Book.
ITINERARY
Ninh Binh
In Hoa Lu, two temples stand on the grounds of the ancient royal palace—one dedicated to King Dinh Tien Hoang and the other to King Le Dai Hanh. The visit offers insight into the feudal dynasties and key historical periods of Vietnam.
Itinerary:
- 8:00 AM: Depart Hanoi for Ninh Binh.
- 10:30 AM: Arrive at Hoa Lu Ancient Capital.
- 12:00 PM: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant with traditional Vietnamese dishes.
- 1:00 PM: Take a scenic boat ride to explore Trang An Grottoes, a unique landscape of 31 valleys and 50 cross-water caves, home to over 600 plant species and 200 animal species, many listed in Vietnam’s Red Book. As you row through the grottoes, enjoy the serene atmosphere, surrounded by towering mountains and the sounds of nature.
- 4:00 PM: Depart Trang An and head back to Hanoi.
- 6:30 PM: Arrive in Hanoi and conclude your unforgettable full-day tour at your hotel.
