A Peaceful Day in Hanoi’s Countryside – Authentic Vietnam Beyond the City
While Hanoi’s bustling streets, historic Old Quarter, and vibrant markets capture the hearts of many travelers, the true soul of Vietnam often lies just beyond the city’s borders. This Hanoi countryside tour, carefully curated by Hanoi Travel Bug, invites you to step into a completely different world — one filled with rice fields, ancient villages, tea hills, and genuine human connection.
This one-day escape from the noise of the capital offers a rare chance to slow down, breathe deeply, and experience life in Northern Vietnam’s tranquil rural heartlands. Whether you’re seeking cultural immersion, natural beauty, or meaningful interaction with local people, this journey promises to be both enriching and unforgettable.
ITINERARY
At 8:00 AM, our private car will pick up your group from the hotel and transfer you to Ba Vi.
The first stop is the host’s house in Ri Village, where you’ll be greeted with a welcome drink. The host, a Vietnam War veteran turned tea farm owner, will share his personal experiences and tell captivating stories about Vietnam’s history.
Next, follow the host to his expansive tea farm, where you’ll learn how to harvest tea leaves. The lush, peaceful surroundings offer stunning views of the village, and you’ll have the opportunity to help him pick tea leaves. You’ll also learn how to select the best parts of the tea tree to make Vietnam’s most famous beverage—traditional tea. The experience continues in his small, manual workshop, where you’ll observe the tea production process.
Around 11:00 AM, a car will take you on a 10-minute drive to Moc Village. Here, you’ll enjoy a fun and interactive cooking class with a local host, who will teach you how to prepare traditional Vietnamese dishes. Afterward, you’ll get to taste the dishes you helped cook for lunch. Take a leisurely stroll around the village, visiting local families to learn about rural life and how products such as tofu, conical hats, and other local crafts are made.
In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing cycling trip through scenic paddy fields and have the chance to interact with local farmers.
End the day with a traditional foot bath in warm herbal water, using recipes from the Muong ethnic minority. This soothing experience will help you unwind after a day of cycling.
After the visit, board the private car and return to your hotel in Hanoi. This concludes your day, and we look forward to seeing you on your next trip with Hanoi Travel Bug.
